What is AirPlay?
AirPlay is a wireless streaming protocol from Apple that allows you to stream audio and video from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac device to an AirPlay-compatible receiver.
With AirPlay, you can wirelessly stream audio and video directly from your device to any compatible device, like a speaker system or TV. AirPlay also allows for screen mirroring, which lets you share your device’s screen with others.
If you don’t need the convenience of AirPlay anymore or just want to disable it temporarily, it’s easy to turn off.
How to Turn Off AirPlay on iPhone 11, 12, or 13
Turning off AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 is a simple process. First, open the Control Center by swiping down from the top right of your screen. Then, tap and hold the music control until the audio control menu appears.
From here, tap on “AirPlay” to view available AirPlay devices. To turn off AirPlay completely, simply select “None” from the list of devices and confirm your selection when prompted.
If you need to turn off AirPlay for just one specific device, tap on it in the list to deselect it instead. Once you have finished making changes to your settings, press the Home button to exit back to your home screen.
That’s all there is to it! With just a few taps and swipes, you can easily disable AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 whenever needed.
Step 1: Open the Settings App
The first step to disabling AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 is to open the Settings app. To do this, locate the “Settings” icon on your home screen and tap it once.
This will take you to the main page of your device’s settings. From here, scroll through the options until you find the one labeled “AirPlay”. Tap on this option to access the AirPlay settings page.
Here, you can easily adjust various aspects of how AirPlay works on your device. You will also find an option at the top of this page that allows you to turn AirPlay off completely if desired.
Make sure to save any changes that you make before exiting out of this menu so that they can take effect right away.
Step 2: Navigate to the Control Center Menu
Once you have opened the Settings app, the next step is to navigate to the Control Center menu in order to access AirPlay options. To do this, swipe downwards from the top right corner of your device’s screen.
This will bring up a menu with several different icons and options. Look for an icon that looks like a rectangle with two arrows pointing outwards from each side.
Tap this icon once to open up the Control Center menu. Here, you will find several different options related to AirPlay such as audio and video streaming, mirroring, and more.
If you want to completely disable AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13, simply tap the switch beside “AirPlay” in this menu so that it turns grey. This will turn off all AirPlay-related functions on your device immediately.
Step 3: Select “AirPlay & Handoff” Option
The third and final step to disabling AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 is to select the “AirPlay & Handoff” option. To do this, simply tap on the “Settings” icon from your device’s Home Screen or Control Center menu.
Next, scroll down until you find the “AirPlay & Handoff” option and tap on it to open up a new page. Here, you will see several different settings related to AirPlay and Handoff such as audio streaming and video streaming.
If you want to completely disable AirPlay on your device, simply tap the switch beside “Allow Audio Streaming” so that it turns grey. This will turn off all audio streaming functions related to AirPlay immediately.
For added security, you can also disable video mirroring by tapping the switch beside “Allow Video Mirroring” so that it turns grey as well. By following these steps, you will be able to successfully disable AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 with ease.
Step 4: Tap On “Disable AirPlay” Button
The fourth and final step to completely disabling AirPlay on your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 is to tap on the “Disable AirPlay” button. To do this, simply go back to the main page of the “AirPlay & Handoff” settings and scroll down until you find the “Disable AirPlay” option.
Tap on this button and a pop-up box will appear asking you to confirm that you want to disable AirPlay. If you are sure that you want to turn off AirPlay entirely, simply tap on the “Disable AirPlay” button again.
This will immediately disable all audio streaming functions related to Airplay as well as video mirroring. By following these steps, you can be sure that your device is no longer connected with any other devices using Airplay and is completely secure from any potential security threats.
Step 5: Confirm Your Selection.
Once you have tapped on the “Disable AirPlay” button, a pop-up box will appear asking you to confirm your selection. This confirmation is important as it ensures that your device is completely secure from any potential security threats.
The pop-up will also provide you with additional information about why AirPlay should be disabled and the potential risks associated with leaving it enabled.
It is always a good idea to read through this information before confirming your selection as it can help you make an informed decision about whether or not disabling AirPlay is the right choice for your device.
Once you are certain that you want to disable AirPlay, simply tap on the “Confirm” button at the bottom of the pop-up window and your iPhone 11, 12, or 13 will no longer be connected with any other devices using Airplay.
